The Day's Dumpster Fire
A small little podcast where your hosts, Kara and Ed, look at historical and not so historical cases where we don't celebrate humanity's success but its most fantastic failures. There are always lessons to be learned in failure and humanity has run amuck with fool proof plans that immediately go sideways and fall apart shortly after executing those plans. Join us as we scour the "human-verse" in search for the most poignant, and often hilarious, failures and try to pull out what can be learned from these failures.
The Day's Dumpster Fire
Episode 33. Ferdinand Kerfuffle Fire
Somehow Ed and Deja were able to meet in person and record together in the same room while Kara lives on the opposite end of the Phoenix metropolitan area. However, it took them over an hour and half to figure out how to set up a microphone.
Thankfully Kara came prepared with an actual episode while Ed's computer kept resetting and glitching out.
In today's episode, Kara looks into one of the most critical assassinations in the 20th century: Archduke of Austria, Franz Ferdinand. We typically agree that the Great War that followed the assassination was a dumpster fire, the events leading up to the even is it's own special of crazy including the actual attempt itself, which barely succeeded!
